Step 1: Install the Odicci app from the Shopify App Store
First, simply log in to your Shopify account and head over to the store management interface. On the left-hand side menu, you’ll see the “Apps” section. Click on “Add,” then choose “Discover more in the Shopify App Store.” Once you’re there, search for “Odicci“, the free app we’ll be using to create engaging Shopify pop-up discounts.
Next, just click “Install.” Well done on completing the first step! The system will then guide you to the next step: setting up your account.
Step 2: Set up your Odicci account and sign in
If you see this screen, you have successfully completed the first step. Next, you need to set a password. In the future, if you want to create other gamified designs with the Odicci App, you can log in using your Shopify email and this password to develop various gamified experiences and enhance your customer loyalty!
Once you’ve set your password, make sure to read our terms of service and check the box for “I have read an the acceptable use policy.” Then, ta-da! You’re all set with your account. Now, you’re ready to begin creating your own Shopify pop-up discounts. Welcome to the next exciting step!
The first step in setting up your exciting pop-up discount is selecting your preferred game genre. Just a quick reminder: As you create more games, using a consistent naming pattern can make it much easier to find and track your campaigns! You can also personalise the game’s language and time zone to match your customers’ preferences. When you’re ready, click “Next” to continue setting up your pop-up discount!
Step 4: Set your prizes, discount codes, and winning odds
Once you’ve successfully set up your campaign, you’ll notice a top menu with five options: Setup, Prizes, Studio, Confirm, and Report. Start by clicking on “Prizes.” This is where you can decide the odds of winning your pop-up discount and choose whether to offer a discount code or a voucher as your reward. If you’d like everyone to receive the same reward, simply leave only one prize (for example, just “Winner”). However, if you have three different discounts in mind, you can add multiple prize options. You can also change the chances of winning each prize in the Chance section!
On the right, clicking the pencil icon for each prize allows you to make more detailed adjustments. If you’d like to limit the number of discounts available, you can set the “Number of Prizes.” You can also fine-tune settings, like restricting discounts to 90 per hour.
Don’t forget to upload an image for each prize. This will be what your customers see when they claim their reward. The system will automatically crop the image to a square. Once you’ve set up all the prizes, you’re ready to move on to the next step!
Step 5: Customise the pop-up design to match your Shopify branding
Once you’ve set the discount and odds, head over to the “Studio” page. Here, you can really personalise your game interface to match different festivals, brands, or events. Feel free to add your brand’s message, choose the customer data you’d like to gather, and customise the CTA button design.
This is a crucial and exciting part of designing your pop-up discount! Your goal should be to create a brand experience that’s visually consistent with your website. - Position: Adjust the position of your pop-up box on your webpage, and you can restrict the pop-up design to only appear when viewed on a specific device.
- Trigger: You can set when your pop-up will appear based on the purpose of your pop-up discount:
- Show immediately: The game appears as soon as a customer visits the webpage.
- Show after X seconds: The game appears after a customer stays on the webpage for X seconds.
- Show on exit intent: The game appears when a customer’s mouse moves to close the page or the system detects an exit intent.
- Show on element click: The game appears when a customer interacts with your webpage and triggers a specific button or element.
